Indiana legislature also limiting public employee payroll deductions

Oh look, our friends in Indiana are facing the exact same thing with payroll deductions! Hello ALEC, goodbye legislatures addressing the real problems in their own states.  The following was posted on Facebook by a public education advocacy group in Indiana.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY: An amendment was added to HB 1334 this morning that outlaws the voluntary deduction of union/association dues from the paychecks of teachers and other public school employees. HB 1334 then passed out of committee. PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LEGISLATORS TODAY and make it clear that eliminating dues deductions doesn’t impact student learning one single bit. It’s simply another attack on public school educators. Tell legislators to stop the attacks on public employees!
