True Blue Women event on ALEC Tuesday, April 23, 2013

ALEC is one of the main forces behind the problematic “education reform
movement”. Here’s an event where you can learn more about this powerful group working behind the scenes to push their agenda in Kansas and other states. The public is welcome. If you think your elected officials are the only ones writing legislation in Kansas and Missouri – you would be wrong!
Often it is the American Legislative Exchange Council – better known as ALEC – who is pulling the strings of puppet legislators by providing them templates for many bills.
This organization meets with large corporations, trade groups and state legislators – behind closed doors – to write state laws that benefit those corporations and special interest groups. ALEC doesn’t only benefit corporations. ALEC treats legislators to expense-paid trips and meetings, where they receive model legislation to benefit their largest campaign donors.
And they do it all without public awareness.
The only ones who don’t benefit are the American people.
Who is Pulling the Strings
of our Legislators?
ALEC – that’s who!
Join us for our quarterly meeting April 23 and learn more about ALEC,
its impact on Kansas and Missouri, and what we can do about it.
