Governor’s budget cuts education funding even deeper

Catch-up payments on KPERS and new capital projects don’t change these numbers.
The Governor’s proposed budget & claims of protecting Kansas’ K-12 funding fall far short of the investments needed in our state’s economic future. Tax cuts stand in the way of boosting Kansas’ lagging education funding. Instead of experimenting with tax cuts, Kansas should be renewing its investment in our education system, the asset that is most important to the state’s long term prosperity.
