Game On for Kansas Schools has issued its rosters for the 2020 primary elections to help voters understand which candidates support public education. Incumbents who have been supporters of public education while serving in office are on the “Varsity Squad.” Challengers we believe will be strong advocates for public education are on our roster of “Top Recruits,” while incumbents who have failed to support public education are “Benched for academic ineligibility.” Incumbent roster members are not merely incumbents-multiple incumbents were not placed on the Varsity Squad-but have earned their recognition by their voting record. Similarly, not every legislator who sometimes votes against public education is placed on the bench.
