Kansas public education underfunding is real and substantial. In the coming months some members of the Kansas legislature will attempt to spin this away, but Kansans who know the importance of public education must not be fooled. Kansas public schools face ever increasing demands both in terms of the level of preparation students must have to participate in a global economy and in the increasing numbers of English language learners and students living in poverty.
