Many of you are wondering what you can do to help. Here are several items.
1. Continue talking to your friends, family and neighbors about the impact of school funding and policy on the children in your lives. Help them see the dangers of moving elections, and changing judicial selection and mandatory retirement ages and their relationship to public education. Encourage them to like this page.
2. Participate in a Valentine’s Day project to send your legislators some love and let them know how much we love our public schools. Those of us with kids in elementary schools now have to purchase two boxes of Valentines because class sizes have grown beyond the standard pack, but we aren’t yet at 40 kids per class, so we have some extras. Please send them to your own legislators and to Education Committee members. We’ll have more info in the near future.
3. Put on your walking shoes. Save March 27-30 on your calendar for our third 60-mile walk to Topeka. Even if you can’t walk the whole way, plan to join us on Monday, March 30 in Topeka. More details to follow. If you’re interested in helping us plan and involve your community, comment below or message us.
