Several of the 60-mile walkers addressed the education supporters gathered at the Kansas Capitol yesterday. Chelli Martin Cranmer talked about the many “hats” she wore while walking — teacher, parent, daughter and aunt. She teaches at Andover High School, and her dad was Robert Martin, for whom Robert M. Martin Elementary was named. But she focused on her nephew, Robby Martin, who is a Wichita State University junior who plans to be a middle school social studies teacher. She wants the teaching profession to continue to be a great one for him!
