Topekans, is Rep. Jones representing you?
“I’m confused. I emailed Rep. Dick Jones, R-Topeka, a couple of months ago on issues that were important to me and got no response, not even a form letter. I thought perhaps I was mistaken and Jones wasn’t my representative. I thought I had voted for him in the past election, but Jones is a common name.
“Then, I received a letter from Americans for Prosperity recently that cleared things up for me. The letter stated Jones was my representative. I was glad to have my confusion cleared up but then I became perplexed again. The letter said Jones was committed to not raising taxes and I should send him an email to thank him for his steadfast commitment to that goal…Now, my taxes probably will go up again to fund the shortfall between block grants and my school district’s operating costs…
“I’m sorry, Americans for Prosperity. Maybe your taxes are not going up, but mine have.
“Either you want me to thank the wrong guy, or else Jones is not my representative after all. Who are you representing, Rep. Jones?”
