We share Sen. Hensley’s concerns and saw many phrases in this report that we have seen in reports authored by the Kansas Policy Institute. In reading the report, we could see little evidence that anyone other than Mr. Trabert was heeded. While we are glad to see the report is being pulled, we believe the ultimate result will be the same.
“Hensley supported Ryckman’s motion. He said the draft report was hostile to public education and maintained KPI and Trabert had undue influence over the drafting of the report. Much of Trabert and KPI’s testimony was included in the report, Hensley said.
“’These members listen to him as if he’s the Gospel According to Public Schools. And he isn’t,’ Hensley said. ‘He’s a special interest lobbyist who has an agenda.’”
