Koesten to challenge Lunn in Republican primary

“Two term incumbent Rep. Jerry Lunn of south Overland Park has drawn a challenger in the Republican race for the District 28 House seat he’s occupied since 2013.

“Joy Koesten of south Leawood filed late last month for the August 2 primary. No Democrats have filed for the race to date.

“Koesten’s campaign said in a release announcing her candidacy that she’s running as an “Eisenhower Republican” focused on encouraging critical thought and the preservation of Kansas’s traditionally high quality of life…Bank of Blue Valley President and CEO Bob Regnier is serving as Koesten’s treasurer.”
