Led by Rep. Grosserode, who homeschools her children, the House Education Committee voted to ban the Kansas College and Career Ready standards, which school districts have been implementing since 2010. The bill would require “the Kansas State Board of Education to present a new set to the Legislature before implementation in 2017.”
We oppose this bill as it is based on a lack of comprehension of how the standards are used in Kansas schools and usurps the role of the State Board of Education. Contact your Representative this weekend.
