Game On testified on two different bills in the Capitol today. The first was SB44, which is the governor’s school funding plan. We testified in favor of this bill and in particular in support of promptly adding funding for inflation during the phase-in of the funding passed by the legislature last session. There were so many proponents of the bill, the hearing was done over two days. Proponents included One United Voice/Shawnee Co. Schools, USD 482 Dighton, USD 445 Coffeyville, USD 393 Solomon, USD 273 Beloit Schools, Stand Up Blue Valley, Schools For Fair Funding, Mainstream Coalition, Kansas School Superintendents Association, Olathe Public Education Network, Education First Shawnee Mission, USD 229 Blue Valley, USD 262 Valley Center, USD 294 Oberlin, USD 374 Sublette, USD 447 Cherryvale/Thayler, USD 251 North Lyon County, Goddard Advocates for Public Education, Shawnee Mission School District, Kansas Association of School Boards, Kansas National Education Association, Game On for Kansas Schools, Kansas PTA and USD 266 Maize.
There was one opponent, as is often the case, the Kansas Policy Institute.
We’re including photos of our testimony.
