We’ve had enough games in the conference committee for SB 16. We’re linking the audio from yesterday afternoon’s meeting as an example of what we’re seeing. We thank Sen. Baumgardner for holding to the Senate position and using real information and input from Kansas citizens in the committee’s decision-making. We are frustrated by Rep. Williams’s lack of understanding of the issues and refusal to work constructively.
So what can you do? Please contact the members of the conference committee and tell them to pass the Senate/Governor/State Board of Education supported funding plan and to avoid passing uninformed, unnecessary and potentially problematic policy provisions. You should also cc Speaker Ryckman who appears to be supportive of Rep. Williams’s conduct. Here are their email addresses: Kyle.hoffman@house.ks.gov, Kristey.williams@house.ks.gov, valdenia.winn@house.ks.gov, Molly.baumgardner@senate.ks.gov, jim.denning@senate.ks.gov, Anthony.hensley@senate.ks.gov, ron.ryckman@house.ks.gov.
(This post has been edited to correct errors in the email addresses of senators.)
House District 77 patrons, we particularly hope you tune in and hear how your representative is conducting herself. Andover(part), Augusta, Douglass and Rose Hill, we’re talking to you.
