“Manhattan-Ogden USD 383 school board member Aaron Estabrook is among forces behind Game on for Kansas Schools, a nonpartisan, grassroots public education advocacy group.
“Long marches are nothing new to Estabrook, a U.S. Army veteran now on a mission to defend young Kansans’ futures, to include the education of his daughter soon heading to kindergarten.
“’She is in the first public education class to be completely subjected to the consequences of the failing tax experiment,’ Estabrook said. ‘Her rights along with the constitutional rights of over 40,000 other 4-year-olds in Kansas are being denied at great cost.”…
“Cuts are just part of their anti-public schools agenda. They’ve also zeroed in on K-12 educators with mean-spirited initiatives ranging from removing teachers’ right to due process, to wanting them arrested for using classroom materials some would deem offensive.
“Such strategies to undermine K-12 schools come straight from the American Legislative Exchange Council, an ultraconservative bill mill, and are pushed by the Kansas Chamber, Americans for Prosperity and Kansas Policy Institute.
“Game on for Kansas Schools participants have had enough.
“They and many other Kansans are doing what they can to raise awareness of the disastrous path of state government.
“Whether it’s through walking or engaging in other ways, such efforts are needed to help counter extremism that’s taken hold in the Statehouse.”
