Dear Educators of Kansas,

Thank you.

Thank you for being shapers of dreams, creators of excellence, protectors of children and stewards of education. Thank you for igniting Kansas children’s passion to learn; for teaching them that all things are possible, but not always easy; that it’s okay to fail, because we learn from our mistakes; and that if life ever becomes more than they can handle, that you are their trusted shoulder of support. Thank you for standing tall in the face of adversity, for finding ways to do more with less when called for, and for being relentless advocates for Kansas children.

We know that a mere “thank you” is not nearly enough for all you do for Kansas students, but in addition to our thanks please know that you have our respect. We are profoundly proud of Kansas educators. Thanks to your work, Kansas students are being given the foundation needed to succeed in college and careers, Kansas graduation rates have increased for the fourth consecutive year, and our students continue to outscore national averages on both ACT and SAT college entrance exams. Be proud of the work you do each and every day to prepare Kansas children for lifelong success. We are!
