Bill to require regular retention elections for teachers union passes out of committee

The latest anti-teacher morale bill also moved forward March 10th. We would like to point out that many administrators like having a single body to negotiate contracts with, and we appreciate the union’s advocacy efforts.

“Teachers would be required to vote every three years to retain their local unions under legislation approved Thursday by the Senate Commerce Committee amid procedural knots, calls for civility and accusations the whole proceeding was just a charade.”
