ACTION ALERT – April 29, 2020

While we normally focus our advocacy efforts at the state level, the tremendous hit to the Kansas economy is having a devastating impact on Kansas revenues, which may have an unavoidable effect on the funding available for public schools. Those of us who recall the budget cuts from the Great Recession know how much damage those budget cuts inflicted and how we are still attempting to recover from them. Please urge our Kansas congressional delegation to help states (which unlike the federal government can’t run a deficit) provide essential services while dealing with a global pandemic.

Call or email all three of our US Congress members from Kansas. Tell them, “I support federal aid to Kansas that can be used toward state budget shortfalls to support our public schools and other essential state services.”
