Public Money is for PUBLIC Goods

This post is from Iowa, but we agree with the sentiment.

The Kansas House K-12 Education Budget will be hearing HB 2119, an Education Savings Account bill, on Monday, February 8th.

We plan to be there to tell them our members believe public money should be for public schools, not private schools.

May be an image of 1 person, smiling and text that says '"My husband and have decided the local parks just aren't good enough for our kids. We'd rather use the country club, and we are hoping state tax dollars will pay for it. We are advocating for Park Savings Accounts, or PSAs. We promise to no longer use the local parks. Το hell with anyone else or the community as a whole. We want our tax dollars to be used to make the best choice for our family." SOUND RIDICULOUS? Tell your rlegislator to vote NO on Education Savings Accounts (ESAs), aka school lvouchers. IOWANS PUBLIC EDUCATION'

Need a great way to describe school vouchers? Here’s an analogy for you. Wouldn’t it be “wonderful” if we could all pick and choose where our tax dollars are spent – and could just decide, “oh, sorry! I want to join a country club, gimme my parks money back.” That’s not the way it works. Public money is for public schools. Please share!
