Kansas has been falling behind on funding for mandatory special education services and any State Board of Education or other candidates claiming otherwise are either uninformed or misleading you. We need electeds who will work to fix this and provide every student with the staffing and services they need

From Kansas Association of School Boards:
“Fact Check Friday
The 2009–10 school year was the last time the Kansas Legislature fully funded its share of special education costs with state dollars.
Since special education became a required service in all Kansas public schools in 1979, the Legislature is now funding the smallest share of special education costs in state history.
Knowing the facts is the first step toward informed conversations about education funding in Kansas.”
