Kansas parents, at least one State Board of Education candidate, Moms for Liberty and the 917 Society are teaming up and putting inappropriately branded constitutions in our public schools. Christian Nationalism shouldn’t get promoted on Constitution Day next week. We know Shawnee Mission, Blue Valley and Olathe are not handing these out but we’re not sure about De Soto, Gardner, Spring Hill or Lansing. Parents in those communities (and possibly others we’re not aware of) should contact their school boards and superintendent. The 917 Society website is linked on their constitutions and includes fundraising for efforts to bring Christianity into public schools, statements against taxation and commentary on books in school libraries, among other things. Tell your district to restrict distributions of materials to unbranded versions.
