Wednesday, Brownback visited after-school programs to improve reading in Iola and Pittsburg, which have partnered with the relief group best known for its TV campaigns urging Americans to sponsor aid for vulnerable children in developing countries.

 

Relying on charity organizations to perform the state’s obligation of educating our children seems less than ideal. Can Kansas not take care of its own children?
