Here’s an interesting story about how the legislature avoided a constitutional crisis over the Montoy case in 2005. We’d also like to remind Kansans that if the legislature had kept the promises made in the Montoy case or if the court had retained jurisdiction after the Montoy settlement, the Gannon case would not have been filed.
