The attempt to override Governor Kelly’s veto of the flat tax bill failed 81-42. (It takes 84 votes to override.) We oppose the flat tax bill because it is too large of a tax cut with too much of the benefit going to the wealthiest Kansans. The average Kansan would have received 75 cents per year in tax benefit from the flat tax.
