Game On submits testimony for House Ed hearing on tax credit expansion bill

On Thursday, March 23rd, the House Education Committee will hold a hearing on expanding the tax credit scholarship program. This program is a “neovoucher” in that it functions as a voucher but is structured as a “scholarship” to avoid being deemed unconstitutional when the funding goes to religious schools. This bill was originally scheduled to be heard in the House K-12 Education Budget Committee but on Wednesday, March 22nd was scheduled for a hearing March 23rd.  At this point we aren’t expecting this bill to pass out of committee. Game On submits testimony in opposition to tax credit scholarship expansion bill

On Wednesday, the House K-12 Education Budget Committee will hold a hearing on expanding the tax credit scholarship program. This program is a “neovoucher” in that it functions as a voucher but is structured as a “scholarship” to avoid being deemed unconstitutional when the funding goes to religious schools. This hearing was originally scheduled for last Friday but was postponed until Wednesday. At this point we aren’t expecting this bill to pass out of committee.
