Senate passes judicial impeachment bill

The Senate has passed the judicial impeachment bill allowing the legislature to impeach Supreme Court justices for “attempting to subvert fundamental laws and introduce arbitrary power’ and ‘attempting to usurp the power of the legislative or executive branch of government” among other grounds. Please note that some legislators have claimed that the courts have usurped the legislature’s power of appropriation by ruling they need to increase school funding. It was a close vote 21-19.
