House and Senate pass budget bills February 11

The House and Senate passed budget bills on February 11th, though neither addressed the Gannon decision. Unfortunately Sen. Longbine quoted here is in the minority. “‘I cannot continue to support budgets that use fee sweeps, expend one-time money, continue to take money from transportation, overestimate revenue and savings, and leave virtually no ending balance,’ said Sen. Bill to expand grounds for impeaching justices introduced day before Gannon equity decision released

This bill was introduced the day it was announced that the Supreme Court would be handing down its Gannon equity decision. It provides expansive grounds for impeachment of Supreme Court justices and some other judges. It was introduced by Senators Fitzgerald, Abrams, Arpke, Baumgardner, Donovan, Holmes, Knox, LaTurner, Lynn, Masterson, Melcher, O’Donnell, Olson, Petersen, Powell, Pyle, Smith and Tyson.
