The Kansas House K-12 Education Budget Committee will hold a hearing on HB2119, an ESA bill soon. We strongly oppose this bill. Here’s a good explanation we found in Forbes magazine of some of the issues. “Parents are expected to navigate this unregulated marketplace on their own. ESA bills and laws talk a lot about parent empowerment, but have little to say about providing parents safeguards against fraud and incompetence. The Kansas House K-12 Education Budget committee rejected proposals meant to strengthen the accountability and inclusivity of the tax credit scholarship program.
