Budget cuts are not figments of our imagination but are real consequences of decisions made in Topeka. From the 2009-2010 through the 2011-2012 school years, there were reductions to such things as field trip and textbook budgets as well as the elimination of elementary teaching positions and a school psychologist position. The cuts have meant increased class sizes, an increased work load for other teachers and psychologists and a deterioration of texts being used.
