Game On testified in the House Education Committee in opposition to House Bill 2166 which would require every district to offer a financial literacy course and would require every Kansas high school student to pass a semester-long course during their junior or senior year to graduate high school. Feb 14th KCUR Article on School Funding Plan

The Kansas Supreme Court issued its latest Gannon decision in June. Last week and this week numerous proponents and only one opponent submitted testimony on the school finance fix. The Attorney General has given a date of March 15 for an enactment to ensure compliance with the court’s April briefing deadline. ACTION ALERT: SB 22 passed out of the House Tax Committee and will head to the House floor. Contact your representative and urge him or her to vote NO on SB 22. We do not know the real cost of this tax cut, and we are just starting to climb out of the fiscal hole created during the last administration. This plan jeopardizes school funding, and Kansas cannot afford another risky tax plan.
