The Shawnee Mission School District has issued a statement opposing House Substitute for Senate Bill 16 and Substitute for House Bill 2395 and supporting Senate Bill 142. We agree. Wempe LTE shares frustration with election of legislators not supporting public education

We share Mr. Wempe’s apparent frustration that Kansans support public education but continue to elect too many legislators who don’t. We elected a pro-public education governor but our legislature moved slightly backwards. There is more work to do in this session and in the next election. Bullying vouchers a bad idea
