Kansas ‘Flat Tax Bill’ dead after Governor’s veto is sustained in the House

The attempt to override Governor Kelly’s veto of the flat tax bill failed 81-42. (It takes 84 votes to override.) We oppose the flat tax bill because it is too large of a tax cut with too much of the benefit going to the wealthiest Kansans. The average Kansan would have received 75 cents per year in tax benefit from the flat tax. Please thank those who resisted pressure to override the veto and ask whether those who voted for this plan, including Democrat Rep. Robinson of KCK, are representing you.

Please thank the following Representatives for voting no: Alcala, Amyx, Ballard, Carlin, Carmichael, Carr, Curtis, Dodson, Featherston, Garber, Haskins, Haswood, Helgerson, Hougland, Hoye, Jacobs, Martinez, McDonald, Melton, Meyer, D. Miller, S. Miller, V. Miller, Neighbor, Ohaebosim, Oropeza, Osman, Ousley, Poskin, Probst, L. Ruiz, S. Ruiz, Sawyer, Sawyer Clayton, Schlingensiepen, Schreiber, Stogsdill, Vaughn, Winn, Woodard, Xu, and Younger.
