What does student success really look like? It’s more than a test score.

Kansas students are graduating at record-high rates, earning college credit, completing AP coursework, earning CTE and professional credentials, gaining career-ready skills and being accepted into elite programs. That’s what student achievement looks like — students leaving our public schools prepared for what comes next.

When we evaluate how Kansas schools are performing, we should look at the full picture: graduation rates, college and career readiness, credentials earned and other meaningful measures of student success — while also considering the unique challenges and demographics of each school community.

Kansas students are achieving. Let’s make sure we’re measuring the success that matters.”
