During the first Brownback administration we warned Kansans about looming problems and during the second one Republicans, Democrats and unaffiliateds joined together to flip the legislature back to a reasonable majority and elect Governor Kelly, but not before a generation of Kansas kids were deprived of a constitutionally adequate education. We can’t afford to do that again. Vote like your public schools depend on it

“Sam Brownback is back, praising Ty Masterson in a new interview & saying the man who helped him wreck Kansas would make a great governor.

“I worked with Ty, and he’s a great guy,” Brownback told the Topeka Capital-Journal. “Very knowledgeable on how to form policy in Kansas — and good policy for Kansas. Ty’s a very talented legislator and I think he’d do a great job as governor.”

We remember their good policy. Schools ending early. Highway projects put on hold. Pension delayed. Credit downgrades & years of budget crises.

Masterson helped make those decisions as Senate budget chairman. When Republicans & Democrats worked together to end the tax experiment, he fought to keep it. Cindy Holscher voted to end it.

Now Masterson is attacking Holscher for that vote, calling the effort to repair their budget disaster a tax hike. Brownback is praising him for the work they did together.
