Here’s some important information from Stand Up Blue Valley.

In 2025, 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗸𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗝𝗶𝗺 𝗠𝗰𝗠𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗢𝗙𝗙 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱. It was the *first time* in district history that a Board member had LOST their re-election bid. Why?

McMullen repeatedly 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧 𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 for students during his Board tenure.

He 𝘃𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗢 𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 *𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆* 𝗼𝗳 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀.

After winning his seat by only 51 votes in 2021, McMullen updated his Twitter profile with his official Board title – then posted discriminatory statements that made news headlines and resulted in 𝗠𝗰𝗠𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗩𝗣.

McMullen’s fringe views are not in line with Johnson County voters. They certainly do NOT reflect the type of individual who should be making decisions for hundreds of thousands of Kansas school-age children!

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗞𝗦 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗝𝗶𝗺 𝗠𝗰𝗠𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲-𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀. Kansas kids deserve better! Amy Diediker: music educator and Olathe public school parent would be a much more effective member of the State Board of Education.
